Pay attention to PCB panel

Why do you want to panel, that is to say, what are the benefits of panel?

1. In order to meet the needs of production.

Some PCB boards are too small to meet the requirements of making fixtures, so they need to be put together for production.

  • Improve the welding efficiency of SMT patches.

It only needs one SMT to complete the soldering of multiple PCBs.

  • Improve cost utilization.

Some PCB boards are special-shaped, and the boarding can make more efficient use of the PCB board area, reduce waste, and improve cost utilization.

How many ways are there for panel design?

1.V-CUT

V-CUT is to draw a slot at the joint of two boards. Just put the two boards together and leave a little gap between them (usually 0.4mm), but the connection of the boards at this place is relatively thin and easy to break. , It is necessary to merge the edges of the two boards together.

V-CUT is generally a straight line, there will be no complicated routing such as curved arcs, and try to be in a straight line when joining the boards.

2. Stamp hole

For irregular PCB boards, such as round ones, V-CUT cannot do it. At this time, stamp holes are needed to connect the boards. Therefore, stamp holes are generally used in special-shaped boards.

The edges of the two boards are connected by a small plate, and the connection between this small plate and the two plates has many small holes, so it is easy to break. After the break, the edge of the board is like the edge of a stamp, so this method of boarding is called a stamp hole.

3. Hollow connecting strip

Hollow connecting strips are often used in boards with half-hole technology. They use very narrow plates for connection, which are similar to stamp holes. The difference is that the connecting part of the connecting strip is a bit narrower and there are no vias on both sides.

There is a shortcoming of the hollow connecting strip’s boarding method: after the board is broken, there will be a very obvious bump. The stamp holes also have bumps, which are not so obvious because they are separated by vias.

Some people may think that it is not enough to use the stamp hole directly, so why use hollow connecting strips? This is because when a half-hole module is made on all sides, neither the stamp hole nor the V-CUT can be used. They can only be connected at the four corners of the module by hollow connecting strips.

What is the principle of panel puzzle?

In order to facilitate production, try to keep the square shape of the board after the panel. In short, don’t let the difference between the length and width ratios be too big.

Spacing requirements:

1. For the PCB whose outermost component is less than 3mm from the board edge, a process edge must be added, and the longer side is usually used as the process edge;

2. A space> 0.5mm should be reserved between the components and the V-CUT to ensure the normal operation of the tool.

All of these, Beton-tech can produce for you.
